How to Apply Patches - Pressing Instructions

Our custom patches are designed for durable, long-lasting adhesion when applied using a heat press. The videos below provide step-by-step instructions tailored to different surfaces

Heatpress For Garments

Since the patch will be applied face-down, begin by securing it in place on your garment using thermal (heat-resistant) tape. This prevents any shifting when placing the garment onto the heat press.

With the patch taped securely, flip the garment so that the patch is facing downward—toward the lower platen of your heat press. This orientation ensures the heat activates the low-melt adhesive on the back of the patch rather than affecting the visible side.

Cover the garment with a protective guard sheet to shield it from direct heat. Then press for 20 seconds at 350°F using 70–80 PSI (medium to firm pressure).

Once pressing is complete, remove the garment from the heat press and allow it to cool for at least 30 seconds. This cooling period helps the adhesive set and form a strong bond. After cooling, carefully remove the thermal tape.

Heatpress For Hat

Place your patch on the desired area of the hat, keeping in mind that the hat will be positioned upright during pressing. Secure the patch with thermal (heat-resistant) tape to ensure it remains in place.

With the patch taped in place, load the hat onto the Hat Press by wrapping it around the lower platen—similar to the platen "wearing" the hat—with the brim pointing upward. Place a protective guard sheet over the patch and tape it down to protect it from direct heat during pressing.

  • Top Platen Temperature: 280°F
  • Bottom Platen Temperature: 320°F
  • Pressure Setting: Medium
  • Time: 45 seconds
Lower the top platen to lock the hat in place and begin the press cycle.

Once the timer completes, raise the top platen and let the hat cool for at least 30 seconds. This allows the adhesive to fully solidify and ensures a strong bond between the patch and the hat.
